Dr. Jamie Gomez

Family Dentist

Jamie Cross Gomez is a native of the Columbia area. She attended Irmo High School and Clemson University.  After exploring a number of careers in the medical field, she decided that her talents were best suited for Dentistry.

Dr. Gomez graduated from MUSC in 2002 and joined her father, Richard Cross, and Kevin Raines in private practice.  She is a general dentist who loves working with patients of all ages.

Dr. Gomez is an active member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, the MUSC Dental Alumni Board, and the Greater Columbia Dental Society. Volunteer work has always been important to Dr. Gomez and she routinely volunteers at the Children's Dental Health Clinic and Dental Access Days providing dentistry to the uninsured.   Dr. Gomez is a member of a Frank Spear study club which meets regularly with area dentist to discuss the latest trends in dentistry today.

Caring for patients and attention to detail are two of the qualities that attracted Dr. Gomez to the dental profession. She has attended numerous continuing education courses on pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry.  She has been a certified Invisalign provider since 2004 and loves to help patients improve their smiles and oral health.  In 2011 Dr. Gomez incorporated computer aided dentistry into the practice.  She can now provide crowns and onlays in one visit.

Dr. Gomez and her husband live in Lexington with their two children.  In her free time she enjoys hanging out with family, yoga, tennis, and traveling.

In case you missed it during a recent visit, Palmetto Smiles would like you to join us in wishing a Happy Retirement to Dr Heather Hopkins who is retiring from clinical orthodontic practice May 31st.  We thank her for the many years of orthodontic service for our patients.  At the same time, we hope you've met Dr Mike Jauch during his time here in the last 6 months but if not he looks forward to meeting you in the continued orthodontic care of our patients.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the office.  If your child is in active orthodontic care, we encourage you to come in with them on their next appointment so that Dr Mike can meet and update you on their care.
